Pretty pretty sunspots! I don't think I'll ever tire of this location. ♥
A pretty Audrey Grace lookbook illustrated by Caitlin Shearer. Full of beautiful dresses a girl can only dream of.
The beautiful gift bags at my friend Emma's 15th birthday tea party. It was a splendid day with lots of sun, good times snapped through the camera and delicious food. A lovely escape from the everyday school routine and a chance to get a little bit of colour in my skin, hehe!

The cutest iphone case from Iconemesis! A cupcake and Fifi Lapin all in one? Definitely yes ♥

This weekend was very busy... everything seemed to be on! I'm happy though because I got a lot of things done and I (think) I'm ready to face this coming week. I have another shift tomorrow night and I'm hoping it won't be as busy as my last. It's not always pleasant being sworn at by demanding customers. I guess I need to get used to being in the real world -- and that includes dealing with rude personalties, haha! I hope you had a lovely weekend too and enjoy this coming week :)

P.S: Fifty years ago today, Marilyn Monroe passed away as a result of a drug overdose. Many people ask me why I take such an interest in her and my answer is that she was not simply a 'sex object' for the media to gawk at and refer to as 'shallow' but she was a human being with serious mental problems triggered from an unstable childhood. She was sexually assaulted and was constantly suffering from abandonment by each of her several carers up until her late teen years. Behind the famous eyes and beautifully flawless face lay years and years of built up pain that she was struggling to maintain.
I think she was a marvellous actress who simply needed help, respect and the chance to shine without the 'sex' label plastered on her overly exploited exterior. She once said this quote:

"I have feelings too. I am still human. All I want is to be loved, for myself and for my talent"

I honestly hope that one day the critism will cease and she will be left to rest in peace. After all, she was just another person on this earth with troubles that were hidden away but desperately in need of help.

Hello hello there Maria!

I hope you're having a lovely day and weekend!
A few weeks ago, I came across your blog but unfortunately, up until now, I haven't had a chance to leave you a comment.

First of all, you look absolutely adorable in that first photo! Your lipstick color really flatters your lovely complexion and that jacket is too cute...it looks so schoolgirl mod-ish if that makes any sense :)

Secondly, that lookbook looks absolutely stunning!
The girl in the pink dress looks to me like a combination of Audrey Hepburn and Lily Collins while the girl in the yellow dress reminds me a bit of Reese Witherspoon?
Do you see it too or is it just me?

Thirdly, that birthday party looks awesome!
So much yummy food (om nom nom) and such sweet little gift bags! If I ever throw a party, I may have to borrow that idea of gift bags made using takeout containers.

Such an adorable iPhone case on such a cute looking background!

Lastly, I think what you have to say about Marilyn Monroe is quite fascinating. My friend and I used to know lots of random little things about Marilyn and people thought we were crazy! No, we just liked reading articles on Wikipedia and whatnot :)
But what you said is definitely very true. Even though I've never seen any Marilyn Monroe movies, I hope to one day see them (like Some Like it Hot!) and be able to appreciate all her amazingness and talent.

Have a great day!

That party look so lovely! And that iPhone case is gorgeous. <3

Aw! I had no idea that Marilyn was sexual assaulted! That's horrible. :( Sounds like she was just very misunderstood. :'(

Your jacket is lovely, really nice flattering shape and stunning colour. The table set up looks great too, along with the tasty snacks!

After you mentioned the Cottingley Fairies I had a bit of a look-see and it does sound very interesting! I find supernatural topics really interesting, especially spirit guides. I'd love to get my palm read simply out of curiosity! My brother went a year or so ago and she was shockingly correct!

Oh, that coat is simply lovely. You look so sweet and pretty! Also, your blog's heading...I'm in love. :)
Wow...those gift bags look so cute! That is so awesome that it was all done for a birthday party. I'd so love to be invited to one like that. ^^
And ah, I really liked your ending on Marilyn Monroe. I know that she is worshipped for her sexuality, but at the same time, practically stigmatized as well for it. It's pretty awful how quickly people can turn on others, especially celebrities. Unfortunately, I have yet to see a Marilyn Monroe movie - do you have one you recommend? :)
I really enjoyed reading this post, and I hope we can keep in touch!
