postcard from paris

Monday, October 08, 2012

My cousin Katie jetted off to Paris a few weeks ago for a magical school trip. She came back just recently and brought back some really beautiful gifts! They are all so gorgeous and I'm so excited about owning something all the way from France! It included some mints with Marie Antoinette on the cover, as well as some floral badges, two bejewelled pencils from Versailles, a macaron brochure spritzed with a delightful scent and a postcard with a gorgeous drawing on the front and a sweet message on the back. If you're reading this Kate, thank you so much, they are so gorgeous!

Paris is so perfect! I wish I could go right now :) Have any of you been? What did you see? Did you have a favourite place? Tell me about it ♥

Paris is such an enchanting place. It's so difficult to pick favourite spots there but I definitely loved the Palace of Versailles. Gorgeous interiors & gardens & of course the Laduree Macarons there. Also the Luxembourg Gardens are the perfect place to stroll, look at the gorgeous flowers or find a chair to people watch/write pretty notes.

I have always wanted to go to France! Gosh it has been a dream of mine for so long, I even have guide books on the best places to visit. If only I could hop on a plane right now!

These are such beautiful little gifts, and your cousin is so lucky! While of course I haven't been to France, I did go on a school tour to Italy which was fantastic. I think you would love Venice Maria, it is the most marvelous place!

Do you learn any languages at school?

Hi Maria, I think next Friday would be a brilliant time to Skype! Hope that's okay with you.

In answer to your question, I went to Florence, Rome, Lucca (which is a really really charming medieval type place near Tuscany) sorrento, Capri (another favourite place of mine.) Venice and Napoli! It sounds like a lot but a couple were just day trips. Even so, italy is a truly beautiful and culturally rich country. I will always remember breakfasts in the terrace and afternoons wandering the scenic squares...stuff dreams are made of! The year 12 trip sounds amazing, you really must go it will be a life changing experience. All the hard saving is worth it <3

Sigh, you have me all dreamy about travelling (which I already am about 94% of the time haha)

Those are such cute things! I went to Paris about 8 years ago, so I don't remember it very well. We saw all the tourist sites (Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysees etc) and we stayed at the Disneyland hotel! It was so much fun!

Is France a long plane ride away from Australia?
