summer favourites // 2014

With my Summer holidays coming to a bitter-sweet close in less than two weeks, I thought I would share a few of the things that have been regularly reached for/ used over the last two months! I also wanted to add a little side note in here too: I've been very busy with work, preparing for my sister's birthday party this weekend and just general life (the classic excuse), but I wanted to say a very heartfelt thank you to every single person that read my latest post, commented, emailed or messaged. The positive feedback and response was overwhelming. I just don't know what to say ... I am part of the most supportive and fantastic community so thank you again. Blogging isn't something I do just for my own enjoyment, but to also contribute to the world and share my testimony in hopes to inspire/ make others think and knowing that I have partially achieved that goal is so humbling.

1. I'd been mulling over whether or not I should hand $30 over the Kikki. K counter for their annual diary for a few weeks now and I finally bit the bullet whilst out shopping with Izzy. We both bought one and sat in the car on the way home admiring the gorgeous interior! It's so cute and pretty and I finally feel like I'll be able to grab my life by both reigns this year... not just one (if you get my drift!) #organisationfreak // 2. Intimately Beckham EDP - a new favourite evening scent that makes me feel like a slightly more grown-up and ladylike version of myself! // 3. Burt's Bees Radiance lip shimmers are the perfect handbag essential for dry lips that need a pop of colour and extra hydration

// 4. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear nail polish in Gold-485 is probably one of the most beautiful polishes ever. It's so gorgeous! // 5. Buche De Noel cleanser by Lush was part of the limited edition Christmas collection and I'm glad I bought it when I had the chance. It's a fantasic cleanser that leaves my skin glowing and soft. Doesn't smell or look too fabulous though... reminds me a little bit of vomit! ;) But it does the job... haha! // 6. Napoleon Perdis SET primer in "Brightening" is another great drugstore product I've discovered recently. It's very hydrating so I use it on days when the roaccutane has made my skin noticeably dry and sad looking. It's got a pretty funny texture and colour but it works really well and definitely brightens!

// 7. The only word I have to describe this body wash is: YUM! This was Izzy's Christmas present to me last year and oh my goodness. It's like I bathed in Miss Dior for about a year. The smell is just so incredible. You need to try this stuff out... you'll probably repurchase it again and again until you're 100 years old.

Aren't the pages of the diary just gorgeous!? There's even cute little animal stickers and patterns and pockets for all of your precious little snippets. I want to look back on this diary in 2015 and be reminded of what a fantastic time I had during my last schooling year. Woohoo!

I hope you all have a beautiful and fantastic day full of flowers, love and happiness. I had a bad day today, but I have the next five days off from work so I can relax, spend time with a few friends and maybe see a movie or two. So far this holidays I've seen Frozen (it melted my heart!) and Saving Mr Banks (which has now made it to the list of 'Maria's Fave Disney Films')... and now I'm planning on seeing The Book Thief and The Hobbit. Goodnight, I'm a tired girl and I need some shut eye. xo

august 2013 // favourites

Thursday, August 22, 2013
Can you believe August has nearly come to an end? This year is going way to fast and I'm trying to keep up and it's just not happening. This week has been very busy so far with assignments, driving lessons and work. I'm trying to remain sane by finding the time to blog, read and relax with tea but it's really hard and I end up feeling guilty about it. What I need is a day dedicated to no school work and pampering for my girls. Anyway, here's a little post about a few of my favourites from this month.

Burts Bees 100% Natural Lip Gloss: This new range of lip gloss from one of my favourite beauty brands is amazing! The colours are really beautiful and the formula itself is the perfect amount of shimmer and pigment to give your lips a refreshed look. I like applying this over my 'Raspberry Pie' lip butter or my Max Factor lipstick in 'English Rose'.

Rimmel blush in 'Pink Rose': This is my favourite 'drugstore' blush. It's very soft and easy to blend. The colour is also very subtle and pretty. The only con to this product, however, is the packaging. It's very fiddly and the plastic is poor quality so the cover breaks off easily. All in all though, this is a wonderful product for the price you pay!

Covergirl Stay Brilliant nail varnish in 'Midnight Magic': I really like these Covergirl nail polishes. They have excellent staying power, great coverage and the colour range is beautiful! This colour looks stunning against any skin tone.

Frankie magazine #55: You guys all know how much I adore this magazine. The latest issue is no exception; the cover is absolutely beautiful and behind it is plenty of thought-provoking articles, awesome things to add to your wishlist and the (bonus!) pull out poster calender for your wall. Yay! Frankie is ideal for lazy Sunday afternoons in the sun with a white tea.

Oasap Candy satchel: The whole 'jelly' trend through me off guard slightly and I wanted to ease into it. I wasn't sure if I really wanted to revisit the 'jelly shoes' phase because I will never forget wearing the blasted shoes when I was about five and coming home with blisters and sweaty feet (yes, I know, lovely). Do you have a pair? Are they bearable? This bag is perfect if you'd like to keep up with the time without enduring blisters or sweaty feet syndrome. It's so darn cute and it has sparkles. Enough said.

Like I Give a Frock by Mitchie Girl: I honestly can't decide what I like most about this book... perhaps it's the awesome watercolour illustrations or maybe it's the random, witty fashion advice that makes it's easy to flick to any page and learn something new. A perfect read for bus trips.

Eek! This is my favourite morning smoothie. It's strawberry, banana, kiwi, ice and yoghurt and berry berocca to kick start the morning and keep me full for longer.

the month of march

{Frankie is the perfect way to start of the month along with a spritz of Miss Dior, ribbon in my hair and Bourjois glitter}

I hardly ever buy Frankie and mostly rely on the local library for it, so when I received it for my birthday; I was overjoyed! It’s a scrumdiddliumptious issue full of witty articles (cue the road test feature on cake mixes, page 78) and gorgeous fashion.
Oh, and it’s probably obvious, but: I gave my blog a makeover! Christina designed me a perfect header and I thought I would go simple for the layout. What do you think?

School has been pretty good lately and knowing that something might be in the mail box waiting for me when I get home has made algebra a little less painful. I’ve gotten the prettiest letters over the last week, including a birthday card from Carina featuring a sweet girl adorned in ruffles (watercoloured of course) and an amazing letter/ goodie pack from Merissa (hello kitty paper dolls, ahh!). Pen pals really do warm the cockles of my girly heart!

I hope the start to your month is lovely!
PS I also updated my blog button! Share it around if you fancy..

I'm still on the hunt for the perfect swimsuit. I love these ones and the ruffled pretties I featured in my last post. Floral, polka dots, ruched middles and vintage-like details are making a huge comeback. If I knew where the above swimsuits came from, I would snap them up instantly! Any ideas?

Read some of the new Frankie today, my oh my, it is a good issue. Everything about the cover is adorable including the surprising pretty contrast between checks and floral. I wish it wasn't a bi-monthly magazine though, I want to read about quirky things every month!

Polyvore. Best site ever! The only limitation is your imagination. I love how you can create the most gorgeous collages in a matter of minutes.

Embroidery hoop wall art. Place some pretty material between the hoops, add a bow at the top and voila! I have one hanging up in my room at the moment and it looks really pretty.

This mug. Story of my life at the moment. I can't wait until holidays so I can de-stress and unwind. A few more weeks, Maria! You can make it!!
