good morning | holidays

Happy Friday! I hope you've all had a marvellous week. Mine has been excellent but I can't get over how quickly these holidays are flying by. Today I thought I'd share with you my morning routine. This is usually how my day begins during the holidays. Tell me in the comments what you do to start of the day! Maybe you go for an early morning run, or you leave for work and eat on the go? I'd love to know :)

6:30: Rise and shine! I set my alarm for 6:30am so I can take my medication (it has to be taken at least half an hour before each meal) then go back to sleep until around 7:30. (I usually wake up smothered in a tornado of blankets because I am the most destructive sleeper around. Half of my bedding ends up on the floor...)

7:45: While my eggs are boiling, I have cereal and a piece of fruit outside in the sun. It's been really cold lately so I like to sit on the deck and warm up a little. If my egg still isn't cooked when I come back inside (which is usually the case), I'll make my bed and clean my room a little.

8:00: Egg is ready! I love having this with tea for a meal that will keep me full for ages. It's especially good right before work because I get really hungry during a four hour shift. I've been working for a year and still can't deal with it well... there must be something wrong with me! Anyway, I usually read a magazine or go through my Instagram feed whilst I'm having breakfast 2.0.

8:15: After brekky, I clean my teeth and do my morning skincare routine which is very simple and easy to manage. Starting with a gentle wash by QV to refresh my skin and hydrate it (it's so dry, ugh!), followed by a light moisturiser by the same brand. Then I like to use my favourite new product right now, a Nude by Nature Papaw ointment, because not only is my skin dry, but also my lips and under my nose (thanks a lot Roaccutane!).

8:45: If I'm not going out, I'll usually spend the rest of the morning working on blog posts and editing photos that I hope to post. I also like to check up on IFB for any interesting articles on blog improvement. My head is always pretty full of inspiration in the morning so I like to jot down any ideas in my notebook so they're ready for days when nothing comes to mind.

I hope you liked this post! I'll be back again soon. Have a lovely weekend. xo

What a nice relaxing routine! During uni (when I have lectures at 9am) I am in a frantic rush and up at 6:30 because it takes over an HOUR to get to uni on time...work days that start at 8:30 are no better! But now i am on holidays I have been indulging in sleep ins until 9am hehehe

Your routine sounds lovely; you definitely get a lot more done than me, working from home means I can barely tear myself out of bed before 9!

I love your bedding, too. xo

Loved reading this! I have a super early start, and I usually end up rushing around the house in a panic. In the holidays its so more chilled though, I might start running in the mornings too! x

I love this post and all the pictures!
My morning routine is really lax...I usually don't get up till around 10:00, unless I have to be up earlier, and breakfast is usually just a bowl of cereal. Then I do my work for my classes and blogging or whatever.(: I probably should have more of a schedule, but it somehow always works out and everything gets done.(:

i love this! most mornings i usually wake up at 8.30-9.00, then have a bowl of porridge with golden syrup in. after that i'll do my morning skincare ritual, then have my glass of apple cider vinegar & orange juice. while i'm drinking that i usually check up on blogs and catch up on everything from the past day... except for the past two days i've been ignoring the internet and playing animal crossing on my 3DS instead!

Great post! That sounds like a relaxing way to start the day. Since it is pretty hot in the US right now, I like to eat my breakfast outside too! :) I usually have cereal and orange juice.

I love this post! My morning routine is: wake late at 8:30/9, yoga and (three times a week) a light run, then some coffee and breakfast. I love your photos. The floral headwreath is gorgeous.
