Dotti top, Forever New skirt, London Rebel sandals

There is something so serene about light blue, which makes it one of my favourite colours to wear. It reminds me of the ocean and sailing, and being in a calm state of mind. For the last few years I identified as "not a beach person", but after my trip to Sydney, I've definitely had a conversion. Freshwater Beach was absolutely beautiful to me. It seemed so unique from other beaches I've been to, particular because it's situated between two rock formations to form a little cove that's distinct from all the others. When I was perched up on one of the cliffs, reading and listening to Hagoon Hardy's soundtrack for Anne of Green Gables, my life was put into perspective in a very romantic way. I'm pretty guilty of romanticizing life, but I think that it's completely harmless to do so if it doesn't become an obsession. Looking at life through rose-tinted glasses makes even the simplest things special and significant, and if this brings even the smallest glimmer of happiness and hope into a life that can be so consumed with superficiality and complications, then I don't ever want to take those glasses off.

How has your week been? It's astounding that I've managed to deliver three posts in one week alone; being home at my Mum’s house for the past few days has been very productive, but also very relaxing. I started my second year of uni today too. I’m back at the University of Queensland for at least a semester, having enrolled in writing and English literature courses. When I left Sydney I wasn’t sure what to do with myself, so I decided going back to uni and doing some courses to improve my writing and grammar would be a good start. I’m also really happy because I got my old job back! I start making coffees again next week and I couldn’t be happier – I miss my work friends terribly! In general, I’m looking forward to life stabilizing again in Brisbane – I’ve been feeling very shuffled and uncertain for the last two months, so I’m hoping the beginning of Autumn will also beckon some routine into my life again.

Here’s a few songs that I’ve been listening to today:
  • Jeepers Creepers by Louis Armstrong
  • First in Line by Elvis Presley
  • When I Fall in Love by Nat King Cole
  • If We Never Meet Again by Elvis Presley
  • Stranger on the Shore by Acker Bilk
Goodbye for now!
