little roses

Thursday, March 29, 2012

This charming headpiece came in the mail a few days ago from Lucy of Wolf Cub! It really is gorgeous and perfectly suited to my style! The roses aren't real but completely replicate real ones so it feels quite special wearing it. If you fancy a pretty head piece you should definitely take a squizz at her page; new stock has just been added!
Anyway, I'm off to go have a Downton Abbey marathon... it's become my new obsession! Have a marvellous day ♥
P.S: I've been interviewed over at Smashion... take a look! Oh, and thanks to Julia Trotti for the pretty Hummingbirds curve I used on my photos, it really does add that extra something.

outfit post: vintage dress

outfit details: vintage dress, thrifted nude heels, forever new belt, gifted boater hat

Say hello to my first vintage dress! As soon as I saw it in the op-shop a few weeks ago, I knew I had to have it. It goes perfectly with this glittery belt and of course, my boater hat. The dress doesn't have a tag but according to my Grandma it could be from the 60s. It's in excellent condition so I was quite lucky! Anyway, I'm very much enjoying the weekend so far as I am finally finished my assessment {except for a few minor ones that I don't need to worry about}! I can actually have a life now, reply to letters and post more often! Yay!
I hope the rest of your weekend is fabulous ♥

something to think about...

Love is the flower of life, and blossoms unexpectedly and without law, and must be plucked where it is found, and enjoyed for the brief hour of its duration. -David Herbert Lawrence
I found this quote and picture of Marilyn Monroe a few days ago. It really moved me and I just thought I would share it with you all. Hope you all had a lovely day!

I have found my dream shoes...

Wednesday, March 21, 2012

Bonjour, world! Nope, I'm not dead, but thanks for asking! I'm not even going to bother explaining my two week absence. Just picture a tired young girl swamped in assessment and you have it spot on. Don't worry, as soon as the Easter holidays begin in the first week of April I will be able to devote more time to Avenue M. I bought a lovely vintage dress a few weeks ago that I am dying to show off; look forward to that outfit post!

Anyway, I have found my dream shoes. No, really. Milkcocoa is apparel's best kept secret and I absolutely had to share it with you all. I was instantly taken in by the sweet photography and the lovely way they've styled each shoe. The first pair remind me so much of The Cherry Blossom Girl! I'm really tempted to just go ahead and buy the second pair... (they are only $32 AUD!)
Take a peak for yourself, they are to die for ♥

the month of march

{Frankie is the perfect way to start of the month along with a spritz of Miss Dior, ribbon in my hair and Bourjois glitter}

I hardly ever buy Frankie and mostly rely on the local library for it, so when I received it for my birthday; I was overjoyed! It’s a scrumdiddliumptious issue full of witty articles (cue the road test feature on cake mixes, page 78) and gorgeous fashion.
Oh, and it’s probably obvious, but: I gave my blog a makeover! Christina designed me a perfect header and I thought I would go simple for the layout. What do you think?

School has been pretty good lately and knowing that something might be in the mail box waiting for me when I get home has made algebra a little less painful. I’ve gotten the prettiest letters over the last week, including a birthday card from Carina featuring a sweet girl adorned in ruffles (watercoloured of course) and an amazing letter/ goodie pack from Merissa (hello kitty paper dolls, ahh!). Pen pals really do warm the cockles of my girly heart!

I hope the start to your month is lovely!
PS I also updated my blog button! Share it around if you fancy..
