questionings

Please excuse my laziness! I have been waiting impatiently upon the arrival of my Teen Vogue subscription which I had signed up for in January. I am furious because I still haven't received one issue!  Nothing against Teen Vogue or anything...

However, my weekend was lovely and rather relaxing. I didn't end up finishing the pretty floral skirt completely on Saturday, the hems still need work. And, I did unfortunately misplace my beloved camera, I have no idea where it could be! This is terrible as I won't be able to take any photos for my blog.
I am going to Izzy Rose's lovely abode on the weekend so I shall borrow hers. Well, about the lovely photo. I'm not sure where I can buy one of these gorgeous skirts, but I'm hooked! I've spotted them a lot lately on tumblr and various images from weheartit. Does anyone know where I can find one?

What has everyone been up to? Today in English I was given an interesting assignment. I have to stand up in front of the class and talk about how a type of mythical creature is real. Convincing my classmates that the hogwash I am saying is true will be difficult as I am a terrible liar!
Well, I hope you have all started your week off on a happy note!
P.s: This is my 100th post! Yay!

Inspiration

Thursday, May 26, 2011

I am absolutely inspired by this beautiful Marc Jacobs advertising campaign. It really is just gorgeous. Also, this gorgeous sketch by Leila. It's probably one of the best sketches I have seen, its so inspirational, I just want to flutter off to my desk and draw one just like it! How has your week been? Mine has been rather bearable, I have gotten through yet another exam, a lesson of physical education (not my best subject) and tomorrow I have another assignment due. I am not worried! REALLY, I'M NOT.

Some more news, our local town is having a fair! I have decided to enter a lovely gathered skirt. Its very pretty, featuring blue lace detail and a gorgeous floral fabric that I had a wonderful time picking out. The skirt should be finished by Saturday and the post should be up by Saturday afternoon. Well, I better go and tidy my room, it has gotten rather messy the passed few days. I hope your week is going well!

travelling pretty

Tuesday, May 24, 2011

You have seen this beautiful chest before but I thought it would go nicely with the pink thrifted skirt and lovely white dress from my Mother. This precious box was a birthday gift from my dearest friend and fellow blogger, Izzy Rose. The contents include a few of my most valuable possessions. A diamond ring, a tiny prayer book and so on. I really like the idea of going to Paris, wearing a pink Burberry trench and a light blue suitcase. Not that this will happen anytime soon as I must buy another bottle of Miss Dior Cherie before I do anything. Why wouldn't you want to be travelling pretty?

DIY: how to make a pretty bow

Sunday, May 22, 2011

My first ever sewing tutorial! I am going to teach you how to make this adorable bow that can be used for anything. I used it for my hair by simply attaching a bobby pin into the back. This bow is so incredibly cute and its so easy. For the full instructions, visit the page here

beautiful frida

Saturday, May 21, 2011

My latest model muse is Frida Gustavsson, the 17 year old beauty is extending her name in the modelling world with her delicate features and charming physique. For me, she is that amazing that I prefer her over Abbey Lee Kershaw. What do you think of Frida?

hopeless romantic

Thursday, May 12, 2011

So, its's quite obvious that Blogger went crazy! Apparently I posted this last night instead of 2 days ago! Anyway, Anne of Green Gables, Pride and Prejudice and Little Women are some of my favourite romance stories of all time. I have seen the movies for all of them and love each to death. Jane Austen was always the women who knew the many rules and aspects of love, Louisa May Alcott was the emotive writer and L.M Montgomery was the all rounder who knew so much about everything. Each story has amazing structure and the cosiness and fuzzy feeling that comes with each one is perfect for cold, wintry nights -- all you need is hot chocolate! Overall, its the hardest decision ever to choose which boy I like the best... but don't worry ladies, some day you will find your Mr Darcey, Gilbert Blythe or Laurie Lawrence!

leather, tan and floral charm

Tuesday, May 10, 2011

I really love this leather satchel I found in the bottom of my mother's wardrobe. It goes so nicely with light, florally outfits and it fits everything! I really like this outfit as well, the white dress was hitched up to a flowy top and the bottom was covered by the long blue skirt my sister made. I've been super-busy lately, exams have started, assignments are piling up and I haven't been blogging as much (for me). I'm sorry! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far!
p.s: sorry for the mix-up in your blogger feed. Blogger is playing up with my posts!

the lovely brogues

Sunday, May 08, 2011

Brogues; the most whimsical and dainty shoes, they are definitely not just for tomboys! Provoking conversation in the upbeat fashion and style world, these simple shoes can make a big statement. In the top image, the brogues add a certain uniqueness to the outfit as opposed to plain black ballet flats or pumps. May I suggest to all of your fashion conscious ladies (and men!) out there, give brogues a go!

1955 statement

Thursday, May 05, 2011

In the Winter on 1955, Coco Chanel created her famous leather quilted bag. The iconic bag has made millions over the years and has been a fabulous fashion statement. I decided to pair mine with my creme coloured trench coat, lovely floral dress and my mother's lovely pearls. And, -- how exciting is this?-- this is my 90th post! I would also like to thank again for everyone's lovely comments, they are so sweet!

pretty purses

Tuesday, May 03, 2011

You've probably guessed that I love pretty things... this includes purses! So much detail and so much statement can be added to an outfit with one of these small wonders. The top picture is of a lovely vintage purse my dear Grandma gave to me. I love it so much! It goes so well with a lot of my clothes and... it's vintage! The last three pictures are from the best picture website ever; weheartit.com

time for the trench coat

Monday, May 02, 2011

I absolutely love trench coats, they are so versatile. They suit every figure, can tie in an outfit and make it look amazing, and they are so classy. I think this Winter I plan to wear one with some lovely tights and cute flats.I love the trench coats in the collage I made using Polyvore. They're all so girly! My favourite would have to be the enlarged tan coat, it would go with everything! How would you wear yours?
