sweet 16

Sunday, February 24, 2013

Today I am 16 years old (Carina's birthday is today too!) and I couldn't be more excited... I feel as though I've wanted to be this age forever. I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend and thank to all of those who have already wished me a happy birthday! I really appreciate it :) I'm off to go celebrate with my family and I'll be back soon with a new post, lots of love xoxo

remnants of summer

1. Pretty pretty bracelets 2. Daisies galore at my Auntie and Uncle's house 3. Summer berry drinks 4. My beautiful little cousin Elijah is a charm to photograph 5. Chocolate mud muffins 6. Mango and chocolate gelato 7. Sweet little dog at my Aunty and Uncle's house (one of five, can't remember it's name!) 8. One of my favourite photos purely because of that golden misted light in the hill behind me.

Happy Thursday! Today I took the day off school to recuperate and plan and catch up on school work. It was really nice. During my 'break-time' from studying I browsed a few online stores too. This playsuit is now my dream. How gorgeous is it?! I saw Claire wearing it and I instantly fell in love. Gosh. It's so gorgeous.

I've also been looking everywhere for a nice watch. I really need one for school considering I am the tardiest person ever (not just at school... but with life) and am late to almost every class. Izzy finds it quite entertaining seeing me scramble frantically into SOR ten minutes after the bell has rung! So anyway, before I ramble any further, do you guys know of any good online stores that sell watches? I've tried Asos, Topshop and Watch Warehouse but so far haven't really found anything. I really like the Michael Kors rose gold watch and am after something similar. :)

I hope you are having a great week! xoxo

This is the dress. You know? The one I ranted on an on about late last year in lead up to the dance? I took these pictures at summer's peak (mid January) and completely forgot about them. It was quite lucky to find them on my old memory card because the weather has been completely ridiculous here lately and I've been drowning in homework which means no chance of outfit pictures. I'm really excited though because I turn the big 1 - 6 (OK, fine, it's not that old) in five days! I don't know what it is about being 16, but it's just such an important age of me. :)
Anyway, doesn't it look so summery and lovely in these pictures?! It's completely different right now though; very chilly (I'm even wearing a sweater!) and perfect tea and movie watching weather. I've also been looking at a few online stores recently too in search of wintery things for my wardrobe. I really like the collection of Ugg Australia they have at Number Eight Clothing... especially these gorgeous gloves. They would look so fancy with a trench and some red lipstick! Hope you're all having a great week so far, I'm off to relax after a homework filled afternoon and watch the latest episode of the Carrie Diaries. Bliss. xo

Wearing my favourite (printed) skirt and feeling a little retro with a blouse from the 90's, red nails and a vintage bag.

I re-arranged my room slightly since the room tour! My bed is now up against the wall to the far left and my wardrobe is now up against the wall too instead of the window. I love it this way, it just seems more spacious.

The nights have been quite chilly lately so it's perfect for snuggling up into my blankets and reading Tuck Everlasting by lamp light.

Doing a little emotional baking. Seriously, baking lifts your mood by at least 100% :)  I am proof heh!

I hope you all had a marvellous Valentine's Day!
P.S: Thank you for all of the kind comments left on the last few posts, I'll try and get back to all of them as soon as I can! :)

latest discovery: red valentino s/s 2013

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

Happy (almost!) Valentines to my beautiful, romantic and fanciful readers! I've been to busy to think about anything but school work and my sanity lately so I thought it was high time I posted the newest collection from Red Valentino (entirely appropriate considering Valentine's is tomorrow). You may remember my post from around this time last year and my waffling about my love for Valentino. Nothing has changed! This collection is simply wonderful. I love the little pops of denim, daisies and stripes. All such an unlikely combination together but work so well.

Anyway, today I got home from school and skyped Hannah (all the way from Pennsylvania, USA!). It was unreal being able to talk to her and it was so fun too. Then, I finished off some homework and planned out what I'm going to wear to a photoshoot I'm doing on Sunday! My friend Maddy's Mum is a photographer and wanted to do a 'vintage inspired' shoot and asked me! I'm so excited for it I could squeal. I'll definitely be taking my camera along for some behind the scenes pictures too. The set up is going to be absolutely magical.
P.S: I hope you have a great Valentine's Day and if your love life is far-fetched and nonexistent  uh, quiet like mine then I hope it's still great! I'm going to make pink heart cakes and hopefully watch a good ole' romantic film (probably Gone With the Wind or something sappy like that)

Vintage dress (for $3!), Kmart sandals, Wolf Cub flower crown, bracelets c/o Oasap

Happy Sunday! Have you all had a marvellous weekend! Mine has been pretty quiet. I worked yesterday and just lazed around today finishing off nagging homework and attempting to plan blog posts (that fell through a little since my sister's turned on Alice in Wonderland - which is one of my favourite movies). I also watched Calamity Jane which is one of my favourite old films. Doris Day is so cute and funny!
Tomorrow my art class and I are heading off the the art gallery for an excursion and I am really excited for it! I love going to galleries and missing out on a day of school is quite a bonus too!

Floral blouse c/o Sheinside, Asos skirt, bag c/o Oasap, ring c/o Oasap, Australis lipstick in 'Cha-Cha'

I hadn't received a sponsored item in a little while so I was absolutely giddy with excitement when two packages arrived in the mail both from Sheinside and Oasap. I am so delighted and happy with the things that were sent. I might start with this beauty of a blouse! I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and fit of this top and find it's such a unique, elegant piece that is perfect for my growing winter wardrobe (I'm preparing for the cooler months early!). I paired it with the cutest satchel ever (the red goes perfectly with the photographic floral print on the blouse) and the snazziest lil' ring you've ever seen!

Anyway, how have you all been? Senior is kinda scary, hectic.... and overwhelming. All I can think about is getting good grades but some wise words were shared with me on Saturday (thanks, Tom!), "don't ever give up your passion". It's very true because I honestly think that this blog contributes to my sanity. Whenever I feel like I am going mental I always have my favourite hobby in the entire world to fall back on.
It's mostly thanks to each and every one of you who read my blog. I appreciate it more than I can fathom.
