Valleygirl dress & blouse, Miss Shop booties, Lovisa earrings and bracelets, Rubi bag, Target hat

These pictures were taken at a farm not too far from my house. It's the prettiest place for photos; the afternoon sun peaks over behind the trees across the hills so it adds the perfect amount of filtered sun making it easier to capture lovely images. I'm honestly giddy with excitement though... I still can't believe I'll have a Canon in my hands on Wednesday. I have been waiting so long (due to my shocking saving skills and my constant need for retail therapy (which does actually help, ya know))!

Are you all excited about the 2013 (this is my last post for the year!)? I always like this time of year... it's when many really start re-evaluating their life, figure out ways to improve it and welcome in a fresh new chapter of possibilities and opportunities.  2012 has been a beautiful mess of a year for me and I'm excited about 2013 and what it will hold. See ya next year! ♥

almost autumnal

Target coat, ASOS skirt, Betts shoes, Sportsgirl bag, Lovisa necklace

Happy holidays and New Year to you all! I haven't blogged in the longest time. I have to upate you on so much! How was your Christmas? Did you have a splendid time? I sure did! Christmas is my favourite time of year and I'm sad that it's already over!
Well, we finally moved into the new house and it's fabulous. My room is quite big too so it's perfect for hosting sleepovers and dancing around. I'm hoping to buy a white double bed from IKEA soon so after I've done that I'll do a room tour because I've gotten a few requests and I'm eager to show you how I've decorated it ♥

On this particular day (that these photos were taken) the weather was mighty strange. We are currently in midsummer in Australia right now so one would expect continuous hot days and souring temperatures but it really hasn't been so. We definitely had the rising temperatures but we've also had a few drops in temp too. I really liked how this coat went with the prettiness and volume of this skirt so I thought I would make the most of the cool (almost Autumn-like) degrees and bring it out. I love the golden colours in these photos, it really makes me long for Autumn.

Anyway, onto exciting news! I'll be getting my new camera next week on Wednesday! Woohoo! I'm really excited. There's some gorgeous locations for outfit picture where I live now so isn't that a bonus! Hope to talk to you all soon xoxo
P.S: This song is AMAZING.

holiday happiness

These dresses are perfectly party ready. I think my favourite out of the bunch would have to be the red lace one... you all know how much of a girlie girl I am, and anything with a sweetheart neckline, punchy colour and lace detailing is a winner!

There are only nine more days until Jesus' birth! Whoopie! I am super duper excited but also a little bit stressed as I have no idea how I am going to fit in the rest of my Christmas shopping. The move is going exceptionally well so far; there is still plenty more to do but our first night sleeping in the pretty new house will be Wednesday. I am dying to set up the decorations for Christmas though, and that's kinda the only thing I've been focused on!

Anyway, here we have a mixture of my own wishlist/ holiday gift guide for you all. I'm really not sure what to call it, it's just a few pretty collages of apparel, accessories and makeup inspiration against gorgeous sparkles. I put it together with the help of Carina's amazing Christmas playlist... it made me feel quite Chrismassy!

Sparkly polished, bold red lipstick and neutral shadows with a hint of glimmer will perfectly complement your fabulously festive outfit!

Ah-mazing accessories: JCrew glitter pumps, Mai Tai Seude Court shoesAperlai heels, Accessorize satchel, Joia vintage earrings, Miu Miu glasses (see my DIY for these here)
The perfect thing to complete your outfit is a great pair of heels or a unique pieces of jewellery  My favourite piece out of all these things would have to be those gold pumps. I mean, how perfect would they be with the navy dress above?! Or any of those frocks for that matter!

The great thing about these sort of skirts is that they can be worn all year 'round. Whether it's blisteringly cold or hideously hot, the versatility is endless. All of these would look beautiful with or without a cute pair of tights.

Are you all excited about the 25th? What are you hoping for this year?

where have i been?!

(An outfit shot from last week, and my favourite perfume has still not run out and a close up detailing of my dance dress since I got a question recently of what it was made out of)

The last few days have been a frenzy of packing, planning and conjuring up ideas for my new room -- all for the big move on Saturday. I think plenty of my excitement to move house has been temporarily misplaced with frustration as there is just so much to do. My room is a sorry sight, with all of my precious belongings hidden away behind the taped tops of cardboard boxes. I keep entering my room thinking I can pull something out (such as my craft box) but then realising that it is hidden beneath the colossal manifesto of "things" in one of the many cardboard boxes that now line my bedroom wall.

And, it is the 12th of December today, and we still have no decorations up! Mum says there wouldn't be any point considering we'd have to take it down anyway... so I've been blasting as many festive tunes as I can manage to get into the spirit. Christmas is honestly my favourite time of year. It's one of the only times in the year when my family of seven can all gather together. Each year on the eve, we head to a great mass and all the families come together and we sing carols, then we head home and leave cookies, carrots and milk for Santa and his reindeer, then we all snuggle into our beds to dream of sugar plums!! (lol jokes, this year I'll be dreaming of perfume, clothes and candles, hehe)

I'm really sorry about the lack of posting around here lately. You've probably been checking Avenue M and wondering where I am! I can't promise to keep up the consistency over the next week but I'll try. I can't wait to show you guys my new room once we move! Have a brilliant week ♥ I'm off to watch Home Alone 1 & 2 with my sisters, some hot chocolate (because this weather is wonderfully rainy) and some popcorn.

How to: Glitter glasses! (miu miu inspired)

Tuesday, December 04, 2012

Happy holiday season, friends! We are officially in December, and I am officially freaked out. Where has 2012 gone? I don't even know. Well, to kick off the holiday season wonderfully, I have a festive diy for you all to try! It involves lots of glitter (one of my fave things), so to find out how to re-vamp the glasses like above, keep on reading ♥ I'd also like to give a big shout-out to my bestie, Izzy, for helping me with the photos! Her camera is seriously a magical thing.

You will need: strong glue (any sort will do), glitter (get creative and use rainbow if you'd like!), scissors, a palette or plastic plate, newspaper (to keep the area as neat as possible), paintbrush (to apply the glue) and lastly, a pair of sunglasses (I got these from an op-shop this morning for $2!)

Squeeze a small amount of glue onto the palette, as well as glitter (pour out a decent amount, this will make it easier to the dip the glasses into it).

This step is optional, but in case you're a little messy with the glue, you can tape in between the glasses hinge, to protect it.

Begin painting the glue onto the sides, evenly distributing it making sure that there aren't any noticeable clumps.

Sprinkle the glitter! Then, follow on from that by patting the sunglasses into the palette, so the coverage is as even as possible.

Repeat the same process onto the rim of the sunglasses, being careful not to get too much glue on the lens (don't worry if you do though, it can be easily rubbed off after drying with nail polish remover).

And, voila! Now leave them out to dry for at least an hour, then spray them with a fixative to keep the glitter in place. You now have a funky pair of glasses inspired by Miu Miu for much less. Seen ya'll soon!

Onto some other news: my dance was incredible! I can't wait to show you guys the pictures Sarah, Lauren and I took. They are super lovely! I have a few pictures here, here and here if you're anxious to see what I wore and how my hair was though. Enjoy the rest of your day! ♥
P.S: I looove this song!

Element Eden x Daydream Lily dress, bag c/o Oasap, Rubi shoes, Forever New belt

Hello, hello! I'm back from my inevitable hiatus! Last week was extremely busy -- full of exams, oral presentations and various assignments, and to be honest, it was killing me not to blog. I really missed it and am so excited about posting more regularly during the Christmas holidays (which are only a day away for me!). Anyway, I recently discovered this dress in the back of my closet. It's so light and easy to wear; something that's essential in the summer time. I paired it with my favourite bag of all time, some cute flats and the loveliest nail polish combination ever (minty green and silver sparkle).

And, onto some exciting news: my year 10 dance is tomorrow night! I'm really excited about it. My two friends Lauren and Sarah will be coming over to my house before the event for a few picture then we'll head off. I can't wait to show you guys the photos and what my dress looks like! It should be a wonderful night ♥
I hope you guys have all been doing wonderfully, and I'll be back again soon xoxo

The Body Shop Mango body butter: This stuff is really wonderful, especially after a hot shower. It's great for dry skin and smells uber summery and tropical. It's one of my bedside table essentials!

Covergirl Trublend foundation: I bought this about a week ago and think it scores about 3.5/5. It's not an amazing product but does a pretty good job for the money you pay for it (this one was $12). I really wouldn't recommend it for oily skin though as it doesn't support that at all. I think it would be perfect on dry/normal skin with minimal blemishes. The coverage is quite sheer and feels quite fresh to wear. It blends beautifully.

Lush Snow Fairy Shower gel: This was my first Lush product and was gifted to me by the amazing Sophie from Nana Wintour. She sent me the most ah-mazing package last week and I'm completely smitten with this shower gel. It smells like cotton candy and even has a subtle glimmer to it. A real treat!

Bourjois Neutral eyeshadow: This is one of my favourite products of all time. The amazing quality and versatility of this product (not to mention the packaging) has made this an essential. It's the perfect everyday eyeshadow and instantly brightens things up :)

Mode glitter nail polishes: These costed me less than five dollars for the both of them! The lasting power of these are what instantly made them a winner. They're super affordable too! (I couldn't find a link to buy them directly online, but Australian chemists should stock them).

Mode eyeliner: I purchased these for about $1.50 for so my hopes weren't too high. The good thing about this product is that it washes off easily and doesn't leave me looking like I've been punched in the face, haha. The applicator isn't the best for beginners (*ahem* me!) but overall it's a great eyeliner if your money is tight and you're relatively familiar with applying liquid eyeliner.

Revlon Colorstay eyeliner and CustomEyes mascara: I was overall disappointed with these products.
The mascara gives little to no volume to my barely there lashes, then clumps them all together like a black triangle (yuck!). The eyeliner smudges easily, (beware: racoon effect ahead!) and once the crayon looses it's sharp end, you can't sharpen it -- making it super hard to apply. Revlon is really expensive here in Australia so I wouldn't recommend these products.

Hope you enjoyed this little collection of reviews! I'm sorry things have been quiet 'round here. By the end of this week I'll be back into the swing of things with some fabtabulous new post for you to enjoy :) Oh, and before I forget; I just joined Twitter so if you'd like to keep up to date with my interesting life and this blog, feel free to follow me

P.S: I can't stop listening to Delta Goodrem's latest album! I have been a fan since the beginning of her career and just adore her. This is my favourite song right now ♥
P.S.S: The winner of my Iconemesis giveaway was Valeria! Congrats and thank you so very much to everyone who entered!

latest discovery: the hiding tree

Tuesday, November 13, 2012

"Tucked in the garden, buried by thickets and flowers, is a hidden tree that holds all the secrets and treasures of one girl's heart..."

This has got to be one of the prettiest labels I've ever encountered. Ruffles and lace? Check. Floral prints and flowers? Check. Pastels galore? Check! I would definitely like to add a few treasures from 'The Hiding Tree' to my wardrobe. You can check out creator, Rachel's website here, it's very beautiful... perfect girlie girl eye candy ♥ and check out the facebook page too!

Asos dress, Target shoes, bag c/o Oasap, Forever New belt, Revlon Lip butter in Cherry Tart

Hey everyone! I took these pictures a little while ago after receiving this gorgeous dress, but hadn't gotten around to editing until now. I really like this little summer number, it was on sale, has a really cool back bow detail and full skirt that's fun to twirl in. The fabric is light and airy -- perfect for the humid weather we've been experiencing here! The only thing though: I think this dress runs quite large. I had to alter it quite drastically due to the fact that when I first tried it on it hung off of me like a potato sack. It's on sale here if you'd like a little look, though :)

Assessment and assignment week (or exam block for the seniors) is coming up within this two weeks and to be honest, I'm a little frightened as to whether I will make it out alive or not. I may or may not be scarce in the blogging world, depending on whether I can find the time to put together some scheduled posts for you guys. I'm so, so, so excited about the Christmas holidays though! I'll be blogging so much more, have a new camera and it's just going to be wonderful. Only 23 days to do ♥

Valleygirl blouse, Asos skirt, Miss Shop booties, thrifted bag (not sure if it's vintage or not)

Happy Sunday, friends! I know, I know. You've seen this top plenty of times but I may or may not be in love with it. It goes with absolutely everything and it's so light and breezy -- the ideal for spring. Speaking of clothing love, I received this retro car print skirt from ASOS they other week in the mail. It was a measly $13, (plus free shipping), was available in my size (quite rare) and, lastly, I was having a bad run and this little retail fix was exactly what I needed. I'm pretty proud of myself actually; I've barely spent any money over the course of this month and am well on my way to my dream camera.
I would actually have it by now but decided to save a little bit more and get a camera that was a step up from the Canon 1100d.
I feel I might outgrow that one quite quickly, so I'm now switching to the Nikon D5000, a more professional alternative that will take a bit longer to achieve, but worth it. The lovely Lily from Red Brick Lipstick uses this particular one and her photos are just beautiful.

Anyway, I need you guys' (terrible grammar...) advice: should I dye my hair darker? My hair is slowly starting to turn red and I'm not sure if I want to keep it or dye it darker. What do you guys think? Do I suit a lighter hue? I really would like to switch up my appearance a little bit ♥

P.S: Don't forget to enter my giveaway below! Who can resist a Fifi phone case?!
P.P.S: This bag, these glasses and this dress are on my current wishlist :)
