Festive frocks: Navy Too Late dress, Sugar Pearls dress, Raspberry Cocktails dress

These dresses are perfectly party ready. I think my favourite out of the bunch would have to be the red lace one... you all know how much of a girlie girl I am, and anything with a sweetheart neckline, punchy colour and lace detailing is a winner!

There are only nine more days until Jesus' birth! Whoopie! I am super duper excited but also a little bit stressed as I have no idea how I am going to fit in the rest of my Christmas shopping. The move is going exceptionally well so far; there is still plenty more to do but our first night sleeping in the pretty new house will be Wednesday. I am dying to set up the decorations for Christmas though, and that's kinda the only thing I've been focused on! 

Anyway, here we have a mixture of my own wishlist/ holiday gift guide for you all. I'm really not sure what to call it, it's just a few pretty collages of apparel, accessories and makeup inspiration against gorgeous sparkles. I put it together with the help of Carina's amazing Christmas playlist... it made me feel quite Chrismassy!

The perfect thing to complete your outfit is a great pair of heels or a unique pieces of jewellery  My favourite piece out of all these things would have to be those gold pumps. I mean, how perfect would they be with the navy dress above?! Or any of those frocks for that matter!

The great thing about these sort of skirts is that they can be worn all year 'round. Whether it's blisteringly cold or hideously hot, the versatility is endless. All of these would look beautiful with or without a cute pair of tights.

I hope you all haven't been too overwhelmed with my girlishness! I have been making an effort though; exchanging silver sparkle nail polish instead of hot pink was a huge deal and I'm quite proud of myself. Anyway, I've been very excited lately because Christmas is coming soon. We set up the Christmas tree last night and it looks so magical. The twinkling lights are so comforting and softly-glowing, it's so lovely to see when it reflects into the room as I'm going to sleep...

And also, I had to introduce you all to a new member of the blogosphere, her name is Emma and she is the sweetest girl ever (look forward to a few happy snaps!) . We go to the same school and I'm so happy she started up a blog, I've admired her gorgeous style and writing technique for ages. My favourite post is the DIY tutorial on newspaper nails. It's perfect for my 'list of things to do' for the holidays.

things for spring

What I would like to wear this Spring...

Definitely something with a cute, Mulberry vibe. I'm thinking an Alexa-lookalike (because I can't afford the real thing), a full-skirted dress with voluptuous flair and a bright midi-skirt that slightly resembles Frida's. I'm also drawn to this Mulberry collection too (Resort 2012), I'm not entirely sure why, because all their collections are adorable. Maybe it's because of that metallic pink dress or those bright pumps that remind me of Louis Vuitton.
Street style is also a great way to find inspiration if you're not sure what you want to wear. I rely on Stockholm Street style daily to post up the cutest, (mostly) wearable outfits. Usually, models are caught off duty wearing some feature-worthy outfits. My favorite is Frida Gustavsson. She never fails to look stunning off and on the runway.
Back onto the sartorial side of things; I also want to wear a blouse over a skirt pulled together with a simple, skinny belt at the waist. Cute! Usually I steer clear of belts, but I think it's high time I gave them a go. The combination looks really effortless and chic and suits a lot of body shapes.
I also desperately want a pair of clogs. They are so cute and girly. Many wonderful bloggers I know have snapped them up, later posting about how comfy they are. Anyone have any fabulous brands to recommend?

colour magic; style rookie runway looks

So I was just browsing through a few background pictures on Polyvore (oh, what a surprise!) and came across this awesome editorial by none other than Teen Vogue. I adore the cover picture, somehow that grey sweat top sits so perfectly under the peachy maxi and the Mary-Jane platform heels fit like a dream on the quirky model (refer to polyvore collage). And I know, I've used this template on Polyvore before, but it's one of my favourites, it's fits with such a variety of themes. I love the collage, the denim crop jacket is just adorable over the skirt and has a total 'straight off the runway'  feel to it. The first image, featuring mix-matched florals is possibly my favourite. I love how well done the pattern matching is. Usually it can be quite risky to attempt to pair two or more patterns together, but the the styling is so perfect! And aren't those shoes amazing? The rest of the spread can be seen here.

Sorry for the initial absence! I've been suffering from a typical Winter illness and also I've also been lacking in blog post inspiration and didn't want to bore such fabulous readers as yourself! The start of this week wasn't too great and getting a cold and a stomach bug didn't make it any better. But lucky for me it was a short term sickness and I've come to the conclusion that lots of sunshine, bed rest and reading is the cure for everything. My exams went very well and I'm very happy with the results, thank-you for the fabulous wishes!

P.s: Get excited Australians! Spring is just around the corner...I can't wait to do some blog posts that are dripping in floral, I've been waiting so long! 

sunday sweet talk

After a lazy Sunday sipping soup, reading a bit of classic Australian literature (Picnic at Hanging Rock) and flicking through some floral cotton at Lincraft's huge sale, I feel rather refreshed and ready to return to school tomorrow to face my maths test! This weekend has been fabulously relaxing and after receiving the latest Teen Vogue issue in the mail, I've had plenty of things to read. At Lincraft I picked up a cute overnight bag pattern. For the quilting design on it, I decided to be a thrifty girl and save a bit of money by using an old bed cover set. It is a gorgeous watercolour floral pattern and it's slightly faded so it as a vintagey feel. Anyway, onto the polyvore (yet again!) it's all things Modcloth. I haven't written about this fabulous store on my blog yet and thought it was high time. Lately I have been finding the most gorgeous things on there. The purple dress is like a dream alongside the cream shoes and floral bag, sigh.  Two of my favourite bloggers are seen wearing Modcloth quite frequently; such as Elyse from Give Me Bows and Bonnie from Flashes of Style. Both of these lovely ladies have such wonderful taste, no wonder many of their pretty outfits feature Modcloth creations.

Onto the academic side of things; for school our newest assignment/ project is presenting a book report in front of the class. I was struggling to find something interesting and captivating to read, so, just for something different I went with Picnic at Hanging Rock. The suspenseful mystery novel by Joan Lindsey about the curious disappearance of three young girls who were amongst a class on an excursion in the early 1900s. I bought the book today and I'm well into it, quite enjoying the mature writing style and extensive vocabulary. I'm also very intrigued to see the film as well. I am ever so curious to find out what happened to those girls on St Valentines Day such a long time ago...and who knows, maybe the book was based around fact?
