off to the country

Thursday, April 28, 2011
I wish my suitcase looked that nice..

My travelling essentials, lots of floral and some girly reads (teen vogue, marykate and ashley and l.a candy!)

From tomorrow morning I will be off on a 6 hour road trip with my family to the country! I am rather excited as we will be seeing some old friends, I haven't seen them in what feels like centuries! I will be MIA for 5 days, tragic, I know. It shall be quite different from where I live... we don't have horses, or farms or dirt roads...Wish me luck, lovelies!

the blazer way

Tuesday, April 26, 2011
To be dressed up and down, the humble blazer. The cover-up in which Balmain is so well known for. I love blazers. One of the many solutions in an outffit crisis! A blazer can tie an outift together, dress it up or dress it down. I have a lovely black jacket that goes with everything, so next time a shopping trip comes around I suggest investing in a versatile blazer or jacket. Thanks again, We Heart It.
P.s: That giveaway is coming up, I can't believe I have over 100 followers! I have been super duper busy, but I promise it will be up soon!
P.p.s: I couldn't resisit putting that white blouse in, its too cute to be true!

Dotti top, thrifted pink skirt, rose bud sandals

Happy Easter fellow bloggers! I would just like to thank everyone for all the fabulousness of the comments and new followers of late! Its so nice to hear all your sweet words!

I'm not really sure what this shoot was inspired by, I just did it. Although, it does include some of my favourite fairytales, one of my favourite tops and a thrifted skirt (i love thrifted clothing) so I shall call it 'favourites'. A special credit also to my little sister, Josie! She has some lovely photography skills.

rosie shorts

Sunday, April 17, 2011

What do you think of the Rosie Shorts I made? This was officially my first ever full garment piece that I can actually wear. I'm pretty happy with them! The roses pattern is so lovely and it goes very nicely with the white lace. For another example of DIY sewing projects; check out Pink Penguins blog, she made a lovely floral skirt that I definitely would like to make myself.
P.S: The pattern I used was by McCalls. It was just a simple pyjama pattern.

lanvin for h&m

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

I'm absolutely so in love with the Lanvin for H&M collection in America. Its so wonderful when designers collaborate with big department stores. It gives people who aren't exactly loaded a chance to wear beautiful designer pieces for a fraction of the price. My favourite dress from the collection is the beautiful tulle dress with a puffy, ballerina like skirt. Rumi Neely from Fashion Toast models it beautifully in the first 2 pictures.

Witty Whitney

Whitney and Lauren for Teen Vogue, 2007

I very much enjoyed the latest issue of Teen Vogue, especially since it included a cute little booklet about Whitney Port's pathway to success. She is such an inspiration for young girls aspiring to work in the fashion industry! Like Lauren Conrad, she was one of the main characters from the hit TV series; The Hills. Whitney includes in the little booklet a few tips for interviews in the fashion industry-- and any other job as well. Firstly, always get to the interview early, if you are going to be late, let them know. Secondly, practise what you'll say, and get a friend to ask the questions so you can easily get used to answering them. Thirdly, be nice to everyone you work with. Even if they are completely impossible!
Lastly (one of my own), dress nicely!

miss natalie for dior

Thoughts on the new Miss Dior Cherie advertising campaign? Natalie Portman does look absolutely stunning in it, but I do prefer the original. Its alot more whimsical and young. What do you think about it?
