Style Inspiration: Bond Girl

Tuesday, January 08, 2013

I'm not an 'action movie' type girl... usually I like to sit down and watch romantic comedy films or fantasy, but the other day I thought I might give the new James Bond movie a go. I was pleasantly surprised, and ended up loving it! It was entertaining and there was also a hint of romance to balance out the storyline. I'd also seen Casino Royale a few years ago and watching this latest film reminded me of the gorgeous wardrobe choices included in Casino Royale. I love the chic, classy outfit worn by actress
Eva Green so I've made a little collage of an outfit I would wear inspired by her style and wardrobe choices in the film. Isn't that Topshop frock perfect?!

Ally blouse, thrifted skirt, Forever New belt, Oasap bag, Target shoes, Lovisa accessories

Ever since I bought this top a few weeks ago, I've been wearing it non-stop. It's so light and breezy (perfect for layering too!) and essential for the unpredictable Queensland weather I've grown accustomed to. Speaking of strange weather, you wouldn't believe it but I am actually wearing a fluffy sweater right now! We live on top of a hill so out the back on the verandah there's quite a chilly breeze coming through... mix that with rain and you have a chilly blogger! I'm feeling really content right now: there really is nothing better than 'me time', listening to Colbie Caillat, sipping camomile tea and catching up on blog things. ♥

I hope you have a wonderful day!
P.S: I made another OOTD video! :)

1950's inspired sundress + new camera!

Tulio sundress, Kmart sandals, Rubi bag, Lovisa earrings, headband and necklace, Revlon lipbutter in 'Raspberry Pie'

So.... as you may have noticed from the lovely, clear clarity of these pictures (as well as the gorgeous bokeh!!) I now have a wonderful Canon camera! I honestly feel like I have been saving forever. I'm so happy and excited though as all of my hard work has paid off. I feel so proud to have saved and met my goal and it's all so worth it. My new camera will come with me on all of my adventures overseas and help to capture memories beautifully in a way my own mind may not be able to. I have had a few questions as to what sort it is: Canon 1100d with a 18-55mm lens.

Honestly, if you are a beginner I would highly recommend this camera. The price is wonderful (It can range from $420+), it's relatively easy to become familiar with and the photos are simply beautiful. :)
Anyway, I really couldn't wait to photograph this dress! It was a lucky find when I was shopping the other day. I've been looking everywhere for a cotton sun dress for Summer and this one was only twenty dollars!
I hope you all are having an amazing holiday season! My holidays are disappearing right before my eyes and it's freaking me out. I only have three more weeks to go. Eep!

P.S: I also made a short OOTD video whilst taking the above pictures. It's incredibly shaky so I apologise for that. My sister (aka chief photographer) is still quite a rookie when it comes to shooting movies!

au revoir 2012

Tuesday, January 01, 2013

Happy, happy New Year! How are you all? Did you have a crazy night out watching fireworks and dancing 'till dawn? Well, as much as I'd like to say "I did!", I went to bed at about nine because I am incredibly boring and had an early start at work the next day. It was nice to wake up to a brand new year though... I'm a little late in writing up my resolutions for 2013, but hopefully I'll have finished them by tonight. As this blog enters yet another year, I just thought I'd collage a few of my favourite moments... enjoy ♥
