Handmade dress from Podie Pie, Kmart shoes, thrifted bag, bracelet from my Mum, Sportsgirl hat

Hello! It's been such a long time since I've posted and I'm really sorry - I knew that blogging absenses would be regular now that I'm in year 12 and my academia is kinda the most important aspect of my life, but I didn't realise it would cause regular week long hiatuses! In today's long awaited post I'm wearing the beautiful dress I never really got a chance to talk about. I bought it for a wedding in April and it's been one of my favourite dresses ever since. It's such a beautiful, classic fit and there's something so calming and serene about light blue. I'm reading The Notebook at the moment and this outfit reminded me a lot of Allie's blue outfit when she goes to see Noah. Although it was a little chilly wearing only this dress (it is Winter after all), it's still perfect for warmer days at the market and things like that. After Friday I am officially on holidays and I cannot wait to be blogging a lot more often with some lovely new clothes that will be arriving over the next few days for review/ styling.

During the holidays I'm hoping to read lots of fantastic books, give my room a few more decor updates (I've been looking at the pillows from Simons lately, they're are so darn cute!), hang out with my friends as much as I can and most importantly, relax. It's been a very busy term (an awesome one!), but I'm absolutely exhausted. I hope you're having an excellent week so far, and I'll be back soon xo

Thrifted anorak, Temt skirt and top, Kmart shoes, StyleLately necklace

When it comes to print mixing, I think the best way to achieve a balanced look is the make sure that there's at least one solid colour in the ensemble. This outfit was something I threw together today and I was surprised at how nicely the colours complimented each other! I'm slightly in love with this coat; it's not a colour I would usually turn to but I've been experimenting more with my style lately and I'm so glad I bought it off the $3 rack at the local opshop. It's in amazing condition for a second-hand item, it's comfortable, warm and goes with just about everything in my closet; especially this floral pairing.

I'm currently enjoying the first set of holidays for Year 12 and it's been absolutely blissful. I think I've caught up on sleep from last year, read enough books to satisfy my deprivation of the written word to get me through the next few months and above all, relaxed. On Tuesday I went down to Brisbane to tour the ABC studios with a couple friends, on Saturday I'm off to see Macbeth (hopefully it will help me with the Shakespeare assessment in Semester 2), on Sunday night I'm celebrating one of my best friend's birthdays and on Monday, my Aunty is getting married. It's going to be a fantastically busy next few days and you'll hear all about it soon! Happy Wednesday!

P.S: The title of this post was a perfect example of me trying to be witty... and failing. Floral skirt + oriental print top = floriental. Also, that's the last time I'll ever attempt fashion and mathematical equations again! Ha-ha.
P.P.S: Today is my sister Gabi's birthday! If you're reading this Gab, I love you and miss you and hope you had a splendid day. xo

Stripes and florals are one of my favourite print combinations, so when I picked up this beautiful jacquard skirt from Tempt on Monday, it instantly came to mind. I've been taking advantage of the warm winter weather lately by wearing 'Spring' outfits. I wore this one out to lunch on Thursday afternoon, followed by a lazy evening reading and watching old tv shows (Christy!).
I can't believe I'm going back to school the day after tomorrow; I swear I was only just getting hyped up after waltzing out of my last exam, head held high. Oh well, I enjoy school (especially since I have a fresh array of subjects this semester) and it's not always good for your brain to be watching youtube beauty videos and shopping all the time! Haha! :) See you guys soon xo

Vintage sweater, Asos skirt, Rubi shoes, Oasap bag, sunglasses and bracelets

For some reason this skirt reminds me of Vegas; palm trees, retro cars, fabulous music and cocktails. It's one of my favourite Asos purchases and I love the retro vibe that it gave off while paired with this charming vintage sweater. The embroidery around the collar was what caught my eye the most... it's exquisite and pretty.
Today was a 'hair in a bun' kinda day. The weather was completely unpredictable! You wouldn't believe it but about half an hour before these pictures were taken, rain was pounding on the path outside and I thought the chance of outfit pictures was second to none. But! The sun popped out momentarily just in time and I managed to get some lovely, sunny shots with the fabulous sunglasses that arrived in the mail last week. I haven't taken them off since they came and I regret nothing!
Anyway, I'm glad it's the weekend. Tonight my little sis (also my fabulous photographer) is celebrating her First Holy Communion. She gets to wear a pretty dress, cape, veil and have her hair in curls. It should be very exciting!

On another note, my dermatologist has been very happy with the way things are going with my skin. It was flaring up a little a few weeks ago so he prescribed three months worth of Erythromycin, an anti-infammatory drug to help soothe my skin during the process of Isotretinoin (roaccutane). It has helped a lot and things are beginning to look a lot brighter.
Anyway, I have to go start getting ready for Tessie's big event. I hope you have an excellent weekend! I'll be returning comments, tweets and emails in between school work, hot chocolate and Little Women (my all time favourite movie!) this weekend xo

Emerson lace and stripe top, Sass tutu skirt, Kmart platforms, gifted bracelet, Forever New belt, Australis lipstick in 'Cha-Cha'

I have been looking for the right striped top since, I don't know, the beginning of last year and finally found one. There's something really classic and chic about striped tops, reminding me of Audrey Tautou or something Alexa Chung would wear under a pinafore. This top added a classic twist to that trend though, with the lace. It's lovely and cool, perfect for Summer and was definitely hard to pass up (at $15!). I paired it with this grey tutu skirt, which needed a day out as I barely ever wear it!

Today has been relatively quiet, I watched the movie One Day and had a good cry after that (have tissues ready when watching that film) and am now re-reading the novel, as my love for it is the equivalent to The Notebook. I also made cookies and bought a new book to read for after I finish One Day. Beautiful Creatures is a book I've been wanting to read for a while now as I've heard a lot about the up and coming movie.
I also wanted to thank you all so, so much for the amazing feedback (messages, emails, and comments) about my wardrobe post. I'm so happy to know I helped a few of you out with some tips and whatnot!! It made me so happy ♥ :) Have a fantastic day and don't forget to watch my latest OOTD video and subscribe to my youtube channel.
