lady lavender // winter & spring staples part 2

Millers white top, Asos skirt (it's on sale, boo-yar!), Kmart shoes, thrifted bag, Rubi sunglasses

Despite Winter being my favourite season weather-wise, I love to dress for the Spring time (I guess it's lucky I live in such a warm climate!), so when this beautiful lavender skirt arrived today from Asos, I couldn't resist concocting a pretty pastel outfit. I paired it with a white top from Millers, which I really love because they've put a funky (did I actually just use that word...?) and interesting twist on the plain white tee by adding texture, and a light blue belt. White t-shirts are one of my favourite Spring staples because they go with absolutely everything.
How has your week been so far? I have to admit, my holidays have been relatively mundane and I'm suffering from cabin-fever. I've cleaned my room to the point where it cannot get any cleaner, I've done so much house-work I may as well be refer to as 'Maria the Maid' and I'm basically going insane. Today I was in an absolutely atrocious mood so I went for long, intense run in the freezing cold, came home and had a refreshing shower (in which I sung to Iggy Azalea, word for word) and now I'm typing this with a bowl of fruit, nuts and 75% cocoa dark chocolate next to my laptop. Things will be okay. Also, if you're interested in buying any of my clothes, check out the listing here! A few of my dresses are either too big or too short for me now and most of it is $10, and all in great condition.

P.S: Shout out to my neighbours who are selling horse poop for the low, low price of $1, in case you didn't notice in my photos...
P.P.S: Shout out to my Aunty and Uncle for providing the chocolate. If you're reading this, THANK YOU.

Lee denim jacket, Forever New skirt, Asos blouse, Converse shoes

You wouldn't believe that it's officially Winter here in Australia due to the balmy lunchtime temperatures, the vibrant colours of flora and the humidity in the air. I'm disappointed! Bring on the temperatures under ten degrees! I didn't buy a pink pom-pom beanie and stock up on winter socks and hot chocolate for the sake of it!
How have you been? My life has been quite the roller coaster (just like Ronan Keating describes it in his song) lately. I'm not sure where to start with this post... so I'll share with you a few good things about this week and what's coming up!
  • On Saturday I'm finally seeing The Fault in Our Stars with my friend Abbey! I read the book a couple of months ago and although I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would, it's still a clever, beautiful story and I am excited about seeing it in film. Augustus Waters is quite stunning, I dare say.
  • I'm going formal/prom dress shopping with my mum's friend on the first Monday of the holidays! She's going to make my dress and I'm so excited about what it's going to look like. Graduation night is just over five months away but it's never too early!
  • You know that overwhelming feeling of accomplishment when you finish a huge assignment? That's how I feel right now about Geography. My field report for our Fraser excursion is SO GOOD and I am SO PROUD of my efforts. Thank you.
  • It's June! It's Winter! It's also less than five months until I graduate and am free of my high school chains! I love school (a lot) but I'm also excited about my future and what it has to hold.
I hope you all have a riproaring good time for the rest of this week!

Emerson sweater, Asos skirt, Miss Shop boots, gifted boater hat, necklace c/o Oasap

Well, it's officially Winter here in Australia and it still hasn't quite sunk in. How on earth are we already half way through the year?! It hasn't been too cold over the last few days, but it's still perfect sweater weather. My weekend was quite relaxing; my friend Ruby and I had a sleepover, ate pizza and fought off an early-morning grasshopper that interrupted our lavish breakfast. The gardener trimmed the hedges so now the silly old things have been pouncing on us unexpectedly! I nearly ate one on Saturday morning! It dived into my breakfast as if it were its own!
Sunday was very lazy. After Ruby headed home I watched Little Women, had rooibos tea and macadamia cookies and tried to read the novel we are studying for English. If you are having trouble sleeping, I highly recommend reading The Secret River by Kate Grenville... I was snoring by 8 o'clock.
I hope you had an excellent Monday! Mine was great apart from being on the verge of a colossal sneeze all day (which finally erupted during period six!). xo

Vintage sweater, Asos skirt, Rubi shoes, Oasap bag, sunglasses and bracelets

For some reason this skirt reminds me of Vegas; palm trees, retro cars, fabulous music and cocktails. It's one of my favourite Asos purchases and I love the retro vibe that it gave off while paired with this charming vintage sweater. The embroidery around the collar was what caught my eye the most... it's exquisite and pretty.
Today was a 'hair in a bun' kinda day. The weather was completely unpredictable! You wouldn't believe it but about half an hour before these pictures were taken, rain was pounding on the path outside and I thought the chance of outfit pictures was second to none. But! The sun popped out momentarily just in time and I managed to get some lovely, sunny shots with the fabulous sunglasses that arrived in the mail last week. I haven't taken them off since they came and I regret nothing!
Anyway, I'm glad it's the weekend. Tonight my little sis (also my fabulous photographer) is celebrating her First Holy Communion. She gets to wear a pretty dress, cape, veil and have her hair in curls. It should be very exciting!

On another note, my dermatologist has been very happy with the way things are going with my skin. It was flaring up a little a few weeks ago so he prescribed three months worth of Erythromycin, an anti-infammatory drug to help soothe my skin during the process of Isotretinoin (roaccutane). It has helped a lot and things are beginning to look a lot brighter.
Anyway, I have to go start getting ready for Tessie's big event. I hope you have an excellent weekend! I'll be returning comments, tweets and emails in between school work, hot chocolate and Little Women (my all time favourite movie!) this weekend xo

Asos skirt, Valleygirl blouse, thrifted heels, Forever New belt,

It's all skirts and tops lately isn't it! I think I might be starting to adore this combination more than dresses. I guess it's because I can mix outfits up a lot more + it's a lot easier to deal with the simmering heat. I've been quite busy the last few days... mostly working, planning out the next few weeks on paper (time to start getting serious about saving $$) and spending time with friends and family. Abbey came over for a sleepover yesterday and this morning we woke up and made pancakes with caramel sauce (yummo!) and ate on the patio. The weather was also really wonderful for taking pictures too, so we took a few on the neighbours pretty property. I hope a cranky old man doesn't live there, because one day I know I'll get caught, haha!

Tomorrow is a busy day too, I head to straight to work bright and early, then after that I have a few appointments to get to. Oh, and wish me luck on not spending anything at the Modcloth Cabin Fever sale. I'll need it :P

Thanks for taking my pictures Abbey!

Asos skirt, Emerson white top, gifted boater hat, Betts shoes

This skirt is easily the most beautiful item of clothing I have ever owned. It's entirely made of sequins, beads and tulle (aka. a dream skirt!) and not something you would think was under $30, but it was (yippee!). Anyway, for this outfit which I plan on wearing on the picnic we are going on later this week, I wanted the skirt to stand out as much as possible, so this pretty white top was perfect. I hadn't worn this little boater in a while either. If you've been a long time reader of Avenue M, you might remember it from my first ever outfit posts (it was my favourite accessory, ever!). It was quite a regular occurrence!

Anyway, I wanted to share something really exciting with you all! I was recently accepted as a Teen Vogue Fashion Click blogger. I've wanted to be a part of the program since I first started reading Bonnie's blog and now my dream has come true! ♥

It was an absolute scorcher today and I felt like I was going to melt into the ground whilst these pictures were being taken, but I'm happy with them nonetheless and like how golden those trees are in the background. I think they complement the green in the skirt well!
P.S: Mariana (such a lovely girl!) interviewed me here, I'd love it if you went and followed her blog and check it out :) And, the amazing people at Independent Fashion bloggers featured me in their last Links a la Mode along with a few other bloggers. Definitely have a squizz at that one too, I loved reading all the articles &hearts

Have a great day!

(Asos dress, Sportsgirl hat, boutique earrings, and Target wedges)

An outfit post was so overdue; I'm really sorry! This is probably one of the last times I'll be able to wear this dress by itself now that the colder weather is officially upon us! It's one of my favourite clothing items lately because a) it was on sale for $25 and b) it's so comfortable and pretty. I paired it with my favourite bambi earrings from a cute boutique where I live and a new sun hat from Sportsgirl and I was ready to go!
